Start with the space, not the screen
The biggest driver of a video wall’s size is viewing distance. A boardroom wall people read from eight feet is a very different design than a lobby canvas seen from across an atrium, or an outdoor wall viewed from a parking lot. We map the room first, worst-case sightlines included, then size the wall to the space and the aspect ratio of the content. Sizes range from a tidy two-by-two panel array behind a reception desk to building-scale walls that anchor a whole lobby, and everything in between.
Pixel pitch: how close will people stand?
Pixel pitch is the distance between LEDs, and it decides how close someone can get before the image breaks into dots. Fine-pitch LED (roughly 0.9 to 1.5 mm) is built for close viewing in lobbies, boardrooms, and control rooms. Wider pitches are the right, and far more cost-effective, choice for large rooms and outdoor walls where viewers keep their distance. Choosing the pitch is where design intent meets budget, and getting it right is what separates a crisp, premium wall from an expensive one that was specified for the wrong distance.
Beyond the rectangle: shapes and layouts
Because LED is modular, a video wall does not have to be a rectangle. We build curved and concave walls that wrap a space, vertical columns and pillars, ribbon strips above a reception desk, floating tiles, and creative mosaics that double as an art piece when they are not showing live content. The layout is a design canvas, and the shape can echo the architecture instead of fighting it.
Integrating a video wall into the interior design
Integration is what makes a wall look built-in rather than bolted-on. That means flush or recessed mounting, trimless or custom framing that meets the surrounding finishes cleanly, and attention to the off-state, because a dark LED wall reads as a large black surface that has to work with the palette around it. We also plan for ambient light, since glare and washout can undo an otherwise beautiful wall, and we help shape content so it complements the space rather than shouting over it.
